Fenceworks: Family Biz with Fences, Hoops, Tramps & Playgrounds

We were recently introduced to this family-owned business that has been around since 1967. Their focus is clearly on the customer and providing good service, so we wanted to share it with you.
What makes Fenceworks different?
They are the only Chicagoland company offering custom fences, playgrounds, trampolines, and basketball hoops that provides free estimates and site visits, does not charge delivery or shipping fees, and answers the phone personally (no call center!).
The company was started by Stan Ascher, who I had the pleasure of meeting. Him and his wife, Merle, still work in the office; it’s truly a family business with three generations working together to provide families with a personal experience. Jake Stotter, who is the playground, basketball, and trampoline department lead, took me on a tour of the showroom. His father, Tom Stotter, handles fencing.
There are many different playground setups to explore, as well as a large trampoline to try, and several basketball hoops, which is a major benefit of going to their showroom in Northbrook. If you are in the market for any of those, definitely bring your kids to try everything out before choosing the right fit for your family. Fenceworks also enjoys helping families find the right combination and products for you.
Unlike big box stores and online retailers, Fenceworks prioritizes top-tier service, treating every customer like family. That was very apparent as I was talking with Jake. He has a lot of fun stories about how they installed basketball hoops for the Bulls players in the 90’s and you can tell that providing the best experience for their customers is his passion.
