A playground at a school, church or community park works a lot harder than one in a backyard. Dozens of kids may be climbing, sliding and swinging at the same time while staff and parents watch, every day, through Chicago summers and winters. That's why commercial playground equipment is built to a different standard than residential sets, with higher weight limits, wider decks and stairs, and safety features designed for group play.
Every set in this collection comes from Adventure World Play Sets. Like their residential sets, each structure is crafted from pressure-treated lumber wrapped in a durable vinyl sleeve, so it won't splinter, doesn't need staining and wipes clean with a hose. You get the look of a classic wood playground with far less maintenance for your facilities team, and a fun, welcoming outdoor space that stands up to heavy use.
Who these playground sets are for
We help a wide range of organizations purchase and install commercial play structures, including:
- Daycares and child development centers looking for safe, age-appropriate daycare playground equipment
- Schools and churches that need a durable playground for recess, events and after-school programs
- HOAs, apartment communities and parks adding a play area residents can enjoy for years
- RV parks, campgrounds and businesses creating a family-friendly outdoor space
Choose the right size for your space and age group
Our commercial play sets are grouped by size, capacity and the ages they're designed for, so it's easy to choose a complete structure that fits:
- Free-Standing Commercial Playground Set: a commercial swing set with two belt swings and a full bucket baby swing, suitable for ages 2 to 12. Its versatility makes it a great addition to an existing playground or a smaller outdoor space.
- Small Commercial Playground Set: a single-tower structure for ages 2 to 6 with stairs, a rock wall and three slides. It holds up to 12 children, making it a popular choice for daycares and preschools.
- Medium Commercial Playground Set: two towers joined by tube connectors, plus a staircase with an ADA transfer station, a rock wall, a climber and monkey bars. Built for ages 6 to 12, with room for up to 60 children.
- Large Commercial Playground Set: three towers with a bridge, multilevel tube connectors, rock wall, climber and monkey bars, also for ages 6 to 12 and up to 60 kids.
- Extra Large Commercial Playground Set: our biggest play system, with six towers at three deck heights, a bridge, tube connectors, two rock walls and monkey bars. It's designed for ages 6 to 12 and up to 80 children.
Not sure what a three climber or transfer station is? Our playground equipment names glossary explains every piece. Each product page lists how the structure is constructed, the playground dimensions and the total play zone area, which includes a safety use zone around the structure. Share your site measurements with us, and we'll help you match the right set to your space.
Planning a commercial playground
A few planning points make a big difference on a public or shared site:
- Age-appropriate zones. Keep toddler equipment separate from structures for older kids, especially at daycares and schools.
- Supervision sightlines. Place the structure where caregivers and staff can see every area of play.
- A mix of play. Combining climbing, sliding and swinging keeps more children engaged at once.
- Children of all abilities. ADA-accessible routes and transfer stations help every child reach the play deck. Learn more about why inclusive playgrounds matter.
- Long-term costs and climate. Look at maintenance and lifecycle costs, not just the purchase price, and choose durable, UV- and rust-resistant materials that hold up to Chicago weather.
- Warranty coverage. Ask what the manufacturer's warranty covers on the frame and on parts like swings and slides, and for how long.
Safety standards and surfacing
All of the commercial playground equipment in this collection is ASTM compliant, follows the CPSC's public playground safety guidance and is ADA accessible. ASTM F1487 is the standard for public playground equipment, and impact-absorbing surfacing and clear safety zones around the equipment are part of a safe layout. Every package can be ordered as the structure alone or as a swing set and rubber mulch package, so your safety surfacing is planned from the beginning. Our guide on what to put under a swing set compares common surfacing materials. Adventure World also offers an on-site inspection by a certified CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) and a letter confirming the playground and surface meet ASTM requirements, which is often needed for insurance and local approvals.
Local guidance from start to finish
Fenceworks has helped Chicagoland families and organizations with outdoor play projects since 1967. When you purchase a playground through us, you work with a local, family-owned team instead of an online-only seller, and you can read reviews from Chicagoland customers before you decide. We offer guidance from the beginning of your project to the end: we'll help you compare options, plan the layout, think through budget and timing, and coordinate delivery and professional installation, so your team can focus on the day the kids first get to play.
